Martin Amador, Audi/Volkswagen specialist
Martin always had a strong interest in cars—especially vehicles of the European persuasion—a passion he shared with his father. When he wasn’t pining for speed, he loved tinkering with engines and anything he could get his hands on, even working on his own dirt bike at 12 years old.
Getting a glimpse of a B5 era S4 on the road sparked a love for Audi in particular, and from that young age, he knew: His first car had to be an Audi. Fortunately, he made it happen at age 16 with a 2006 A4. His drive to tinker continued with this first car, quickly revealing the complex nature of the Audi and sending Martin down a rabbit hole of learning how to work on them.
He scored an apprenticeship at the shop that had been servicing his vehicle, and the path forward became clear—he was meant to serve the Audi/Volkswagen community. So that’s what Martin did for the next eight years.
He first came across Berg while on the hunt for a specialty Audi computer for a personal vehicle project. A trip to the dealership was a bust, so Martin reached out to Berg for help. Not only were they able to take care of the issue, his experience there was through the roof. Everything about the shop was as close to perfect as it gets in his book, and he was blown away. From that moment, his new goal became joining the Berg Performance team.
With that aspiration achieved, his favorite part about the job remains the thing that most impressed him during his first visit: the work environment. Specifically, Martin appreciates working in a well-equipped shop among a friendly staff that’s willing to help each other out and provide excellent customer service to anyone who walks in the door. To that environment, he brings a fluency in Audi/Volkswagen and Spanish.
To go with his dream job at Berg Performance, Martin’s dream car is a Porsche 918. For now, he drives a SQ5 and is currently in the process of giving it a massive performance upgrade.
